A techno-apocalypse musical and MIT thesis on keeping human authorship at the center of AI-assisted creation.

Overview

01

After AGI is a practice-based MIT thesis (Opera of the Future, advisor Tod Machover) on how AI can augment rather than diminish human creativity. I wrote and produced a techno-apocalypse musical from the inside — tracking where AI genuinely helped and where it began to flatten my voice — and distilled fifteen principles for keeping human authorship over the decisions that matter while leaning on AI only for supportive technical work.

It takes three forms: the musical as the primary case study, a custom interactive web app (afteragi.io) that hosts its world, and a public installation that gathers the surrounding community’s hopes and fears about our growing dependence on AI.
